Reef knot

Use two ropes. Cross over, right over left.
And under.
Cross over again. This time left over right.
And under.
Pull ends to tighten.

Use:
The reef knot is used for tying two ropes of equal thickness together. Can also be used for tying the reefing points on a sail when the wind blows up and used to tie a triangular bandage.
